The meeting place for the excursion “City walk: Tallinn’s harbour area” has changed from Vabaduse square to Museum of Estonian Architecture (Ahtri str 2).

Sunday is excursion day!

Posted on April 23rd, by Evelin Reimand.

On Sunday you can choose between two excursions.

ARCHITECTURE OF WAR: Trip on the traces of Peter the Great´s Naval Fortress
Time: 10.00-16.00
Meeting place: Balti jaam, parking lot next to Shnelli park, in the beginning of Nunne st
Price: 20 €
The surroundings of Tallinn are filled with traces of vast defense system that was never completed and never used for its initial purpose. These pieces of unique military history are now in the backyards of local residents, flooded by water and in the depths of forests. On this trip we will explore some of the positions of Peter the Great´s Naval Fortress in Suurupi, Humala and Kiia. The guide on the tour will be Peeter Nork from the Estonian Heritage Board and Deiw Rahumägi from the NGO Nelja Valla Kogu.
The trip is organised by NGO Linnalabor.

CITY WALK: Tallinn’s harbour area
Time: 10.00-13.00
Meeting place: Museum of Estonian Architecture, Ahtri str 2
Price: 7 €
A 3 hour walk includes visiting the exhibition „Rohuküla – the forgotten war harbour of tsarist imperium and it’s architectural pearls” at Estonian Architecture Museum, Seaplane harbour, Patarei prison and the harbour area.
The tour is organized by Katrin Koov and guided by architecture historian Oliver Orro and Ingrid Aasoja.
